They'll be headlining on the night, so feel free to get a few cheap beers in elsewhere before show time (10.30pm). They've recently caused an A&R frenzy as a result of their now legendary appearance at aA's "In The City" do back in September & will be going back into the studio in the new year to demo some new material, despite heavy interest from a few labels in the south.
26.11.03 Loose Canon provide the music to a short film that's being shown at two locations in Manchester as part of the Exposures season next week. The film, a documentary about a local drug addict, was put together earlier this year by local film maker Kevin McNeil & features 3 unreleased LOOSE CANON tunes, including a delicate version of "Radiate".
You can catch the film at the Cornerhouse on Oxford Road on Tuesday 2nd December, however it's being shown again on the big screen in Exchange Square on Wednesday 3rd December at 10.35pm. We'll have a word with Loose Canon's management about making the soundtrack available to download on this site over the next few weeks, cos it's all good stuff.

04.11.03 ManchesterOnline have had the cheek to do a far better preview of the upcoming aA vs. NYC gig then we've done on here so it seems easier to link to it by clciking here than us plagerise the article for our evil ends...yes!
02.11.03 Loose Canon made their live comeback at The Exports brilliant house Party on Oak Road in Withington, MCR last Friday night. With their new drummer Bec behind the kit, the mighty cANon knocked out a short & sharp set, mixing a couple of old favourites with some new tunes. If you want some proper aA news then check out the latest issue of City Life which features aA reviewing the latest demo's - well worth £1.50 of anybody's money we reckon.
14.10.03 The Warriors are coming out to play - Friday 14th will see aA legend Thomas Truax return to Manchester with his crew of New York guitar punks - check the flyer by clicking here and hold tight - it's going to be great! Loose Canon and The Soft priest will attempt to stop them getting to Coney Island (Stockport) - will they make it?!
aA film note: The Warriors is a classic NYC street gang movie: watch it tonight!
08.10.03 Thomas Truax will be returing to the UK in November for some more shows involving his crazy instruments and crazier songs - we love him here an dyou will too - a legand in the making and a New York resident well aware whre it's really at...
07.10.03 Cancelled shows are not usually the aA way (apart from the ill-fated 2001 'aA air balloon death metal all nighter' event) but such things have came to pass that have now made the hotly antcipated 'Seaside Anarkhy Part 2' to be cancelled. It's not the end of the world though as Autokat will be doing their thing the day before at Blowout and there will be more aA events coming at cha very soon..
06.10.03 Seaside Anarkhy touches down for the rematch .."Back to the city" at the (now legendary) Piccadilly Gardens Hotel on Saturday October 25th and for £3 of your good money you can expect Loose Canon, Sam & Me, Brown Corduroy Express and the (Kim Fowley-equal) Soft Priest on the decks...click here for more details and to check the new flyer...

26.09.03 aKouStiK AnaRKhY rECorDinGs proudly present...... Not content with putting together the finest 'In The City' line up and having THE biggest 3-day party of the ITC weekend, the aKouStiK AnaRKhy crew are naturally refusing to grow complacent. So, we're shaking off our hangovers and post-ITC blues to announce another weekend of fun, frolics and all round bad behaviour.
Friday 24th October - Autokat @ Chorlton Irish Centre, Chorlton, MCR Proceedings kick off on the Friday at the brilliant underground shindig "Blowout", where the hotly tipped and quite frankly superb AUTOKAT will be playing live. Anyone who caught aA's favourite sons at "Anarkhy In The City 3" or indeed anywhere around the Country over the last few weeks, will know what we're going on about and fully understand why the phones at 'aA HQ' have been red hot ever since. This is simply, not to be missed. 9pm until late, £3 on the door.
Saturday 25th October - The Zans, Sam and Me, Brown Corduroy Express @ The Garden's Hotel, Piccadilly, MCR After bringing aA off the streets and providing us with a suitable home for "AnaRKhY In The City 3", the kids at The Garden's Hotel enjoyed themselves so much that they've demanded more.....so who are we to object?
Billed as the return leg to August's "SEASIDE AnaRKhy", two Brighton based acts will be making the journey north for what promises to be an eclectic mix and a truly seminal affair, with aA Grandfathers and cult 70's Stockport outfit THE ZANS being part of a ramshackle triple bill. Brighton's BROWN CORDUROY EXPRESS offer spirit-lifting beats and heart-stopping melodies, blended to create a warm electrical fervour. Meanwhile SAM & ME, regulars on the aA live circuit this summer, have recently been dubbed 'breathtakingly beautiful & brilliant in equal measures'.
If that wasn't enough, it will be THE ZANS' first electric gig for quite a while, as they get themselves into shape for recording their debut album, a full 25 years after it was originally intended to appear. This event clearly has the right ingredients to be yet another legendary aA happening. More? Well, all right then.....
THE SOFT PRIEST will be proudly perched behind his now legendary "Mobile Confessional" fulfilling his DJing duties, remember room 204 for the after-show party and you never know, you may even find KIM FOWLEY still wandering the premises looking for a way out! See you there - doors 7:30pm and only £3 for all this AnaRKhy.
The music of THE ZANS and AUTOKAT, amongst others, can be found on the critically acclaimed 'Whores On The Door' (Songs in the key of aA) album, which is currently available in all good record shops or via mail order through this site. The aA travelling bandwagon will be hitting the road in November taking in Newcastle, London, Brighton, Stoke, Nottingham, Cardiff & Bristol.
There will also be a one off 4th Birthday do in Manchester, which will celebrate all things aA with a "best of aA" sort of line up.....details to follow.
05.09.03 aKouStiK AnaRKhY rECorDinGs proudly present “AnaRKhY In The City 3” @ The Garden's Hotel, Piccadilly, Manchester, M1.
As a truly seminal record label and traveling bandwagon, we felt it was our duty to maintain our “In The City” tradition by bringing you the festival's most off the wall new acts. This year there's an added twist with the appearance of a true musical legacy, in an event that's so big its gonna take us 3 days to show it all to you!
Over the 13th, 14th and 15th of September aKouStiK AnaRKhY will be taking over The Garden's Hotel, Piccadilly, Manchester to bring you the best in unsigned talent, including an evening with ‘the underground animal' and cult hero KIM FOWLEY as a centre piece. Why?…..just because we can, that's why!!
The full listing as follows:
DAY ONE - SATURDAY 13TH Proceedings kick off with 3 of the best bands to hit the stage at aKouStiK AnaRKhY over the years, as well as the most far out DJ you're likely to meet.
They are, in no particular order: LOOSE CANON (the brains behind the label & all things aA) AUTOKAT (Local lads, who may well be the best band that you'll see all weekend) SAM & ME (A cracking Brighton based band both brilliant & beautiful in equal measures) + THE SOFT PRIEST on DJ duties.
DAY TWO - SUNDAY 14TH “KIM FOWLEY'S ROCKET TO STARDOM” The legendary singer, songwriter, producer, blagger & all round music genius is coming to town, to show us how to put on a real show.
Kim Fowley is bringing a handful of brilliant bands, including: MIGHTY STARS (Bristol), VELVETRON (Dublin), ANALOG (Galway/California), LITTLE HOOKS (Derry, N.I) plus the return of “the American Syd Barrett” STEVEN T. (ex-Venus & The Razor Blades) in addition to other surprises. Also promised are drag queens, midgets, dancing girls, dwarfs, very special guests & famous friends etc, so this is clearly an evening not to be missed!
DAY THREE - MONDAY 15TH The third & final day of AnaRKhY will offer 3 of the most recent acts to have impressed as the aA bandwagon has traveled the country.
They are, in no particular order: THE EXPORTS (A rock & roll juggernaut from different corners of the world) THE DIAMOND PISTOL REVUE (Manchester based “liquid blues infused psychedelic voodoo”) PIERRE HALL (one of the greatest singer/songwriters you're likely to see all weekend) + DJ WILL on the decks
Right then, all this AnaRKhy for the bargain price of just 3 quid each night (free for ITC delegates), there isn't a guest list because that ain't our style – so get there early or you won't get in. 8pm until late each night.

02.09.03 Thanks go out to everyone for making it down to The Briton's Protection last Saturday night (30th August), for what turned out to be a cracking night. THE SOFT PRIEST didn't disappoint with his first ever (truly bizarre) live show & has promised us that there's more to come.
Personally, I was terrified by the visuals & the browsing Mother Superior, but no one can deny that as a live show it was anything other than absolutely brilliant! For those who were there, you would have seen a set from LOOSE CANON that will go down in history as being totally seminal. The odd false start aside & dropped notes, they were rocking by the end & even found time to debut a brilliant new tune called "Blue to Red" that sounds like nothing that they've ever done before. Also, how many other bands would drop a forthcoming single from their live set to accommodate a tune that sounds like the end of the world backed by a trip-hop beat?
A brilliant night all round & a brilliant job was done with the sound by aA's resident noise box Mr Paul Flieshman from 3rd Kind. We'll be back in a couple of weeks for a truly legendary "In The City" weekend.....check back for further details in a couple of days.
27.08.03 The Soft Priest is making his live debut at Briton's Protection this weekend. After far too long hiding behind his legendary mobile confessional, he's gonna come out & put on a show that promises to be super weird & utterly wired. Support on the evening will come from the most seminal band around LOOSE CANON who, after recently conquering Brighton with a heroic performance, have promised to mix things up a little bit with "a few new tunes & a couple of hits". The date to remember is SATURDAY 30TH AUGUST 2003 & the action will kick off at 8pm sharp. If you're not there, you'll claim that you were in years to come. This is one that's definitely not to be missed.
19.08.03 Anarkhy In The City 03 On my gosh we've just heard rumours about what's going to be happening and it truely sounds unbelivable - aA have secured a true legend from a land far away - the Chinese whispers start now...
11.08.03 Full On AnaRKhY was kicking off down south last weekend, with the first "Seaside AnaRKhY" happening at The Hobgoblin on London Road in Brighton. After travelling down late on Friday night, the aA massive hit Brighton beach early on for a day of sun, sea & sand after which we showed Brighton how to do it with an aA accent. With DJ Will doing the business on the decks & Paul from 3rd Kind doing the sound, the live music on the night was provided by :
LOOSE CANON (aA pioneers who are becoming a truly phenomenal band) SAM & ME (both brilliant & beautiful in equal measures) EDDIE THE GOAT BOY (a true maverick of twisted sound) TIM HILL (leader of the rock & roll juggernaut "The Exports") DAVID NOVAN (a veteran of aA & the "Narcissus" mouth piece) The event was a truly seminal occasion & the aA merchandise stall was busier than it has ever been, so it was an undoubted success all round. We're heading back down for more in the near future, so let us know if you're interested in hitching a ride on the aA tour bus.
If you're gonna have a party, you may as well make it a good one, huh?
03.08.03 SEASIDE AnaRKhY hits Brighton at the weekend. Saturday is the day & The Hobgoblin is the venue. We're taking down aA legends LOOSE CANON, as well as TIM HILL (the leader of THE EXPORTS) & PIERRE HALL. The line up will be completed by the addition of EDDIE & THE GOAT BOY & the brilliant SAM & ME, who we had the pleasure of seeing live at the top secret GARTONBURY FESTIVAL in Over Alderly at the weekend. If you're in the area next Saturday, come on out & support the aA road show. If anyone fancies making the trip, we'll be arranging a mini bus so give us a shout if you need a lift. We hear that the weather is gonna be scorching, so make sure you bring your bucket & spade.
30.07.03 aA album favourites THE HOKUM CLONES are playng at Night & Day this Thursday. Also on teh bill are fellow scousers The Stands, who are causing a bit of a stir. Rumours that Steve Gerrard & Wayne Rooney are DJing on the night are currently unconfirmed, but check back in a couple of days & we'll try to clear this one up for you.
28.07.03 Loose Canon have been hard at work finishing off their new single, with Julian Gaskell occupying the producer's role yet again . The tune ("Fox Hunting") may only be 2 minutes & 7 seconds long, but it's a white knuckle ride from start to finish with some heroic features scattered through out. Further details of the forthcoming single will be revealed when we can get a straight answer out of the lads as to a rough release date. I'm guessing October, myself.....
21.07.03 Nice One to everyone for making it down to the THOMAS TRUAX gig at The Britons Protection on Friday night. A truly seminal evening was had, with a decent crowd in a cracking venue. As well as Thomas being let loose with his "hornicator", LOOSE CANON knocked out a blinding set which was their first live outing for a couple of months. If that wasn't enough, we were also fortunate enough to have The Soft Priest DJing on the night. Now, who can fault that?!?!?! Thomas Truax is in the middle of his short tour of the U.K. Hopefully, he'll be back again soon. Check his website www.thomastruax.com for further details.
